San Francisco, the land of freedom and HILLS

San Francisco is located in the far west of California; it is a city which symbolizes freedom, diversity, and multiculturalism. San Francisco is the home of the Castro district, a stronghold of the gay community since the Summer of Love in 1967 and Haight Ashbury, the counterculture hippie head-quarters; two suburbs which epitomize the atmosphere in the city.

Discovering the iconic San Francisco

Is this your first visit to San Francisco? Don’t worry; much of the scenery will be quite familiar to you, featuring as the backdrop for thousands of movies. Among the most famous of landmarks filmed is the beautiful bay of Alcatraz. The former prison and lighthouse are an important part of history, which are easily accessible to tourists. Walk in the footsteps of Al Capone, Alcatraz’s most famous prisoner!

San Francisco, mysterious and photogenic

During your stay, you will inevitably enjoy a day or two of fog lingering over the bay. Don't run away! San Francisco is also known as ‘Fog City’, and this foggy phenomenon completes the character of the city. The Golden Gate Bridge should also be on your to-do list in San Francisco.
